0 Full-time 6 hours ago Full Job Description Purpose & Job Related Requirements $6,000 HIRING INCENTIVE This position offers a one-time $6,000 hiring incentive to be paid in $2,000 increments (not added to base salary).
Eligible newly-hired Attorneys in the District Attorney's Office will receive an incremental hiring incentive upon documented satisfactory job performance as follows:
After successfully completing 3 months of employment (Payment #1), after successfully completing 6 months of employment (Payment #2), and after successfully completing 12 months of employment (Payment #3) for a grand total of $6,000.
This incentive is not added to base salary.
Continuation of this Recruitment/Hiring Incentive Program is subject to available funding and approval by the Manager.
The selected candidate(s) will be placed as an Attorney I, Attorney II, or Attorney III within the corresponding pay range depending upon qualifications.

Western Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney The District Attorney's Office in the Western Judicial Circuit has an opening for a Pre-Trial Specialist Assistant District Attorney.
The Pre-Trial Specialist Assistant District Attorney has an essential role to play.
This position is non-trial line and instead focuses on other aspects in the lifecycle of a case.
This role will oversee preliminary hearings, grand jury, bond hearings, forfeitures, pretrial diversion, and accountability courts.
The following duties are normal for this position; other duties may be required and assigned:
Review and prepares cases for preliminary hearings and Grand Juries Evaluates cases to be eligible for accountability courts and the pre-trial diversion program.
May attend bond hearings when requested by Magistrate Court.
Reviews reports submitted by law enforcement to determine whether further investigation is needed; approves or returns cases for more work; researches alternative crimes; reads and researches case law.
Review and drafts accusations and indictments; evaluates and researches potential defenses; negotiates pleas to dispose of cases; dismisses cases not prosecutable.
Subpoenas appropriate witnesses for motions; researches and argues all pretrial and post-trial motions; files motions in appropriate time frame prior to trial.
Complies with discovery requirements by copying and mailing documents.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Attorney I $57,266 - $68,217 Depending on qualifications (DOQ) Minimum Requirements:
Juris Doctorate with at least one year of experience as a practicing attorney, law clerk, or law assistant required, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must be a member of the Georgia State Bar be in good standing of another state's bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia; and be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Attorney II $60,129 - $71,628 (DOQ) Minimum Requirements:
Juris Doctorate with at least four years of experience as a practicing attorney is required with experience in three practice areas, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must be a member of the Georgia State Bar be in good standing of another state's bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia; and be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Attorney III $66,292 - $78,969 (DOQ) Minimum Requirements:
Juris Doctorate with at least six years of experience as a practicing attorney is required with experience in four practice areas, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must be a member of the Georgia State Barbe in good standing of another state's bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia; and be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
All candidates are subject to a background check.
